Pakistan, Bangladesh T20I series to be played without DRS technology: sources
PCB sources confirm the decision ahead of 28 May's opening match at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.
The much-awaited Pakistan-Bangladesh T20 series, set to begin on May 28, will be played without the assistance of the Decision Review System (DRS), according to sources within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The absence of DRS for the upcoming three-match series has been attributed to the unavailability of the technical staff that typically operates the system. According to PCB sources, the team responsible for the technology has yet to return following the conclusion of the HBL PSL.
As a result, the DRS system will not be available for use during the three T20 matches, scheduled to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 28, May 30, and June 1.
While the DRS absence may raise questions about its potential impact on the fairness of decisions, both teams are expected to adapt to the circumstances.
Ahead of the series, the PCB also announced that a press conference with the team captains and the unveiling of the trophy will take place later today, as fans await the exciting clashes between the two nations.
